How It Is
Posted in 1 on April 11th, 2009Ha ha, I have had a night out and have had a good old end of week drink as you do. I work hard, or at least I like to think so, and want to let my hair down every now and then. I like to Know as it were and educate myself as well as others and am always intrigued by all things new, ideas, people and inventions. I am quite metamorphic, always wanting to know something about everything. Always have several projects on the go, try, try, try. Tonight I talked of days past when I used to believe that I would be sucessful in a profession in music and when I was younger had dreams of power, and money, but money only used in the sense to better this world, in terms of charitable organisations, innovations and a foreseeable future of success. Yes there are plenty of famous celebrities, stars and moguls alike that donate to charity and good causes. But I had always hoped that I could create change for all. Maybe a high and grand expectation, but I see so many wrongs, and hope for the tomorrow of the rights. This evening I found myself talking about my old myspace page which was used for marketing my music (to no great success but many positive comments). And how, there was an american army cadet who was no older than 19, added as a friend and had the opinion of he must fight, as that was what he believed was the answer. As I said to my colleague, in not so many words, the death of another is not the answer or responsible thing to do, no matter whether the person be of any nationality of on of the many of the other nationalities of the planet, for which some countries turn against each other in War. It is not necessary for these barbaric, prehistoric or out of date attitudes to exist any longer. Sadly (which is a word I use quite often). The one thing I regret, is not telling the whole of the story to my work mate as there was in fact more detail to the brief moment of the story that I had shared to my colleague that night (as after a few drinks my concentration wanes a little), The young army cadets opinion who was yes a young man, not just a tool, was that of he wanted to kill, kill for his country in revenge of terrorists?. O.k. getting a bit serious here, but highlighting present day society to still be having as many issues as our ancestors preceeding us. Why is it that we still murder, kill and act towards those with differences to ourselves with such impaired judgement? It frustrates me that such enthusiasm for cruelty and bloodiness still exists in 2009. In reference to a serious note here, yes there have been terrorist attacks and bombers and many other unexplainable acts of insanity towards others, but we are supposedly modern man. Modern man still entertaining the inexplicable is no great achievement. There are those that occupy their time in ways that are orientated towards being paranoid of others, change and unity being an option that was not considered, with each sticking to their own and a certain stigmatism carried through generations. And those that adore the ideas. We talked of favourite films, and I mentioned how blade was the first film that ever gave me a natural buzz upon exiting the cinema after having seen it. Couldn’t really give an answer to my favourite film of 2009, nor for 2008, but had mentioned that one of my favourite films was stand by me, starring Corey Feldmen and River Phoenix and what a tragedy it was for the death of River Phoenix. I then asked kitty what my favourite film was and he of course responded with Pulp Fiction, being in my merry on the way to drunken state of affairs, I had of course forgotten this. Pulp fiction is an all time favourite of mine, often found myself watching this film when bored and really trying to understand every element, so much so, I have a book of the screenplay script, which I wish I was given the opportunity to have read it before ever seeing the film. I see the contrast of black and white, which some don’t understand, that being my own interpretation of that being highlighted in the film amongst other sociological issues. But it is a film that is svelt in its underlying issues of the unsaid adding to its magnificent canvas. If only all its context were to remain in the film as art, rather than art immitating life or life immitating art?
No Wars, No enemies, No hate, Love those you don’t know a little, Love those you do know a lot and never forget to help when you can and maybe the same will be done for you one day. When it comes to war, its either kill or be killed, no killing thanks only happy people and more hugging!
